Custom Knife Blocks

Designing your own custom knife block is easy and fun.  Your block will be a reflection of your good taste and design aesthetic and will complement your own unique cutlery collection.  There are 4 basic steps to designing your own block:

1) Measure your knives - blade length as well as width and thickness.

2) Choose your block style.  Check out the Gallery for some ideas.

3) Configure the slots.  See the worksheet below.

4) Choose your wood.  For a discussion of available species, click here.

In an attempt to simplify the design process, I have created a worksheet which you can fill out to properly configure the slots for your collection.  The worksheet was created with Microsoft Excel, so if you have Excel on your computer, please click the link below to download the worksheet.
